We started with Pure Bred Dogs in 1965 with St. Bernards during the following years we had German Shorthair Pointers, Am. Cockers, Eng. Foxhounds as a second breed. (not all at once).
In 1985 we got our first Clumber Spaniel from England - And that was the beginning - Our last St. died in 1990 and our other breeds went with the children as they left home to start their own families. Our first Clumber was co-owned with Ricky Blackman, Merri, and was a Raycroft Clumber. Our next was Poppy from Canada a Cypress Woods bred bitch. Then along came Munch, also Cypress Woods, gotten directly from Bets Young. This bitch was also co-owned with Ricky. Puppies from these bitches and their off-spring are still with us.
We received Frankie as a rescue dog, through Leslie Connell. (Cameo Clumbers)- he was left tied to a pole in Manhatten NY by his former owner. we were able to obtain his AKC papers and he finished his Championship quite fast, as did the 3 bitches. After Frankie, we imported Simon from England and then we imported Moses from Sweden whom we co-owned with Gail & Marshall Cook (Pickadilly Clumbers) .
Most of my pups have been sired by these males. Hawk was a Poppy ofspring out of C.W Ambassador. along with his sister Amanda. We then got Callie also from Canada and she was bred to Ch. CW Certified Copy ( Basil) who was co-owned with Ricky - Callie and Basil had some excellent pups. Frankie sired 9 litters and many finished their Championships. We lost Frankie in Dec '04, 2 months after his last litter was born.
Three years ago I purchased Junior, who is a Basil son from Frozen Seman. He was winners dog at the CSCA National in AZ.from the 6-9 month class. in 2002. He is also co-owned with Ricky. Basil lived with her, along with Liam a Basil son and Sebastian a Basil grandsun imported for Sweden. Junior finished his Championship by 1 year of age.
Then came Tessa, who is also a Basil daughter from frozen seaman. Her dam is Ch. Wild Cherry's Glacier Mint, TD. She finished her Championship in only a few shows with BW over males for some of her majors. She finished at 8 months old. With nothing to show in the classes we ended up getting a Cardigan Welsh Corgi "Breaker" he also finished in 4 shows under a year old.
In between we got a Sussex Spaniel, Sundowns Budwiser V Terryville, "Buddy". Buddy turned out to be pet quality so we started doing Therapy work with him. He is known all over Martin & St Lucie Counties and the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast for his work with Children doing Paws to Read and his visits to nursing homes and schools. Breaker, Tessa and Moses are also Therapy dogs, but Buddy is the one most people ask for. Moses, Buddy and Tessa also worked on a fun team where we did "dancing" with the dogs
In 2003 we leased Roz from Eileen Heiple (Wild Cherry Kennels) and bred her to Moses. we got a couple of really nice puppies out of this breeding. Lincoln who finished at 1 1/2 years old from the bred by class and Dottie who finished her Championship on March 10, 2007. This litter was co-bred with Connie Drake, John Haenszil and Eileen.
2004 brings us a litter from Tessa and Frankie. 9 pups born 9/30/04. Hopefully all will do well in this litter. 2 pups from this litter: Ralph and Molly both finished their Championships at a young age. Under a year old.
In the fall of 2005, Tessa again had a litter this time sired by Ch. Bluuemoons n Kingwoods Canoli. 2 girls and 2 boys were the result. We have a lot of hope for this litter
In April 2007 Dottie had a litter of 2 girls sired by Junior. Many of these dogs have gone to the Rainbow Bridge, but have left behind a great legacy in their offspring.
